First you will meet Dr. Kayla Bravo and she will have you fill out an intake form. After paperwork is all filled out she will take a thorough health history. The history will include family, occupational. and past medical histories as well as history of your dietary and exercise habits and pervious care received. The first visit takes anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour due to the complexity of the history and exam.
Next a physical exam will take place. She will then review any pervious x-rays, MRI, laboratory analysis, or any other documents or images brought in. Blood Pressure, Range of motion, orthopedic, and neurological testing will be performed to assist with diagnosis the condition. Dr. Bravo will also observe and palpate areas of the body including the spine to find any abnormalities
Adjustment & Treatment Plan
Once Dr. Bravo has identified the problem, she will explain what her diagnosis is and begin treatment. She will perform a adjustment to the spine which is a specific manipulation of any joint in the body which has abnormal movement patterns and fails to function normally. The adjustment can be given by hand or instrument, and consists of applying pressure to the joint areas that are out of alignment. If needed she will also work on the soft tissue and musculature to reduce muscle spasm and break up adhesions. After the adjustment, she will then create a treatment plan and give you personally tailored home exercise specific for your condition.
